Creating Unity By Serving Humanity
The volunteers of the Muslim Soup Kitchen Projects (MSKP) have been feeding thousands of local families and individuals in need by holding monthly Soup kitchens and bi-monthly drives at various locations throughout the Capital Region, NY. Also, once a year, on the “National Muslim Soup Kitchen Day”, generous volunteers from all across the USA join us in this mission to feed the needy in their own community. We hope to create unity among families and within our communities as we come together to serve those in need.
So come, join us as we put our faith to practice and help create unity through serving humanity.

Our On-Going Community Projects
Monthly Soup Kitchen
Held on the last Saturday of every month, at various locations in Albany, Schenectady and Troy. We serve anywhere from 300-500 wholesome meals prepared by our volunteer cooks. Come join us at any of these locations to serve meals and spread smiles.
National MSKP Day
Countless organizations from all around the United States, individuals and groups have come together to prepare and serve thousands of meals to the people in their own communities since the launch of our first National Muslim Soup Kitchen Day in 2016. Add your community to the list!
Monthly Drives
MSKP collects non-perishable food, fruits/vegetables, meat, clothing, school supplies, and toiletries. Those who are in need are welcome to come and pickup whatever they need at our physical location or we distribute them to homeless shelters and facilities in need. Please see our schedule for an upcoming drive and donate generously.
Qurbani Drive
MSKP collects Qurbani meat from generous community members on Eid and distributes it to the local families in need. We have collected thousands of pounds of fresh meat for local distribution.
Donation Center
Our donation center is open twice a week during certain hours for collection of new/and gently used items. The list of collection items is above. If you want to give an item that is not listed, please check in with a volunteer to make sure it will be accepted. 518-608-1255
How You can Get Involved
Love to Cook?
Cooks are a vital part of the MSKP projects. Without them there would be no meals and without meals, no soup kitchen. With over 30 active home cooks and bakers, meals are prepared and dropped off at a designated location to be later delivered to local shelters.
Have a Car?
Come help deliver meals to homeless shelters around the Capital Region.

Our Story
Muslim Soup Kitchen Projects is a volunteer run organization that serves the needs of the most deserving in the Capital Region, NY. It began in 2003 as a small-scale, student-run effort to help the needy in the community by providing them with hot meals, and since then, by the Grace of God, has reached thousands of people across the country. Since 2014, under the direction of Uzma Popal, MSKP has served over 420,000 meals, distributed thousands of pounds of meat and non-perishable food, clothing, and personal hygiene products to local homeless shelters, refugees and senior care centers. With over 130 active volunteers, and continuous efforts to fulfill multiple projects, MSKP is tirelessly working towards creating unity through service.
